…the Grammy’s were kind of rad. Seriously, I always think the Grammy’s suck but this year, they were all kinds of awesome, with a few exceptions (ahhemm, Foo Fighters, gross) Highlights included:
-Tina Turner (w/ Beyonce who was just OK): The woman was wearing a lycra metallic body suit and looked amazing. I couldn’t even wear that without getting a serious camel toe and looking all sorts of horrible. Plus, she’s got to be like 70 and she was running around on that stage like she was 16.
-Aretha: Lost some weight, but still fat in an awesome way. Always amazing.
-Feist: acoustic performance of 1,2,3,4. Totally rad. I love her.
-Herbie Hancock playing George Gershwin: First off, Herbie is OLD and he looks not a day over 25. I don’t know if dude is drinking the blood of virgins or what, but he looks amazing and his skills on the piano were impeccable.
-My Amy: looking healthy, if not a little too sober, and winning the grammy for record of the year - “fank you….MY BLAAAKE, incarcerated”
so good.
Amy Winehouse, most endearing moment ever for her tonight when she looked completely shocked and excited and normal when they announced her winning right after she performed. Usually she’s stumbling around with a total mess of hair on her head, ripped blood stained jeans and shit. Good for her for at least cleaning up for the grammys. I don’t really care about her except that her crack smoking video was terribly depressing. Maybe she’ll stay clean for “her blake who is incarcerated” (funniest moment I saw of the grammys)
