I’m still confused about this move by Microsoft. They’re not buying a young, energetic, growing company but an old (relatively), flagging company that can’t seem to turn itself around. Add this to the expected backlash (engineers leaving, users switching) and the need to go into debt to get it done, this deal makes absolutely no sense.Agreed. I don’t see how this will benefit either company.
Instead of having two massive companies with no direction who waste a lot of money but can’t beat Google, we’ll have one even more massive company with even less direction that will waste even more money and still won’t beat Google.
But there’s an important distinction as long as the companies remain separate: Microsoft doesn’t need to beat Google. If Microsoft would get their act together and focus their efforts into something coherent (which they’ve never done) instead of flailing their arms everywhere, they’d see that they can easily coexist with Google.
Instead, Microsoft is trying to imitate Google’s products badly, while Google is trying to imitate Microsoft’s products badly.
Buying Yahoo will only make this worse - and won’t bring any additional success to anyone.
Unless you have money coming out of your ears, you probably won’t want to shell out the cash you’ll need to get Office, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, EndNote, and so on — even with your student discount. These free apps do the job well enough, and sometimes even better than their paid or otherwise limited alternatives.
BART SIMPSON IS GOING TO SAVE SCIENTOLOGY.
The voice of Bart Simpson, actress Nancy Cartwright, donated $10 million to the “church” of Scientology last year.
Her donation was part of Scientology’s Global Salvage effort, which aims to “de-aberrate” Earth - meaning to rid mankind of psychology ills and other “aberrant” behavior.
In comparison, Tom Cruise only donated $5 million. In installments.
i have to say i enjoy the show. I’ve been listening for passed couple months but i think you made the right move on quiting. However, i think you should still stream the show in the djnewstyle show room even though the opie room was a great test so see if people liked your show. But it is a distraction with 130 people in one room and it’s a distraction to you that you have to answer calls read text and play sound clips. i think you should just keep it in the djnewstyle show room i enjoyed the smaller crowd and when text doesnt fly by…..perhaps you should get germ to answer calls since his not the one doing all the production for the show just a recommendation.

Last night’s show was done in a popular paltalk room with around 100 people listening to the entire thing. The response was better than I could have imagined. The amount of feedback and the number of calls were overwhelming and I had a great time.
This paltalk broadcast was planned for a couple of weeks, but when Badmonkey (he runs ThereIsNoRadio) got wind of it, he cited his station policy of exclusivity and told me to stick to his website’s audio feed and chatroom. I’d have no problem with that, but the chatroom has been a ghost town since the station’s launch in October of 2005. It is a buggy flash program that requires users to create an account on ThereIsNoRadio, which is a confusing process that is punctuated by its inability to send the confirmation emails that contain the required account activation link.
After trying to reason with him, explaining that there would be a lot people there who have never heard of his station, he forbid me from doing my show on paltalk in front of potential new listeners.
I quit the station without a second thought.
I’ve been a part of that station’s lineup since it started and I have no ill-feelings towards ThereIsNoRadio, but the reason I do a show is so it can be heard by as many people as possible.
I will be broadcasting in paltalk and my episodes are recorded and added to the podcast. I will find a way to get a live stream out to the people who used to listen to me on ThereIsNoRadio.
